Volunteer

Crisis & Counseling Centers is currently looking for volunteers to help with a wide range of tasks. Take a look at the following and see if there's a place here for you:

Gardening or Maintenance:

The four crisis residential units we operate require constant care and attention. Would you like to adopt one and help out on a regular basis? Bring a friend, or your church group, or your kids!

Office Help:

We could use help putting together our information packets, sending out mailings, responding to requests for information, and other tasks. Could you give a couple of hours a week? You'll get to know some great new people in the process!

Caring for the Caregivers:

All of our direct service staff give a lot of themselves every day. Would you like to help us give a little more back to them? We could use someone to take this on as his or her pet project. Find ways to reward our staff -- anything from getting friends to bring in lunch for our workers, to soliciting prizes from businesses for drawings or awards, to coordinating outings to places like Sea Dog games. What a lot of karma is waiting to be reaped here!

Event Workers:

We held a fundraising event for the GEAR program on October 1st, and plan to do more such events in the future. Planners are needed for months in advance, but people are also needed to work just the day of an event. Tons of fun!

Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee:

Both of these positions require more of a commitment than the other volunteer opportunities listed above. Terms for Board membership are three years. There is no term for participation on the Fundraising Committee, but half a year to a year would be expected. We are looking for individuals with specific skills, experience and interest to fill these positions.

For information about any of the above, contact Judi Watters, Mgr. of Development & PR, at 626-3448 x 179 or by email at mailtojwatters@crisisandcounseling.org (remove the "mail to" from in front of the email at left - this has been inserted as an anti-spam measure).
